Інсталяція створена під час ленд-арт симпозіуму "Простір покордоння" у Сумській області. Вона представляє собою натягнуту струну яка простягається від дна яру до резонатора, який завис на рівні з верхнім краєм яру. Робота ловить енергетичні вібрації яру та трансформує їх у звук.
Утворення ярів відбувається через руйнування пластів пухких осадових порід водяними потоками (наприклад сильних дощів або танення льодовиків). Велика кількість ярів (у тому числі на території України) були утворені у часи закічення останнього льодовикового періоду, що робить їх одними з найстаріших у світі.
Так, якщо земля, яку ми спостерігаємо під ногами кожного дня є нашаруванням історії тисячолітнього існування Землі, то яри є буквально її «дірами». За словами авторки, перебуваючи у яру, «людина відчуває енергію сторічь, її бездонність, та інформацію, що неможливо осягнути розумом, але можна трасформувати у звук – на підсвідомому рівні зрозумілу кожному мову».
The installation was created during the land art symposium “Border Space” in the Sumy region, Ukraine. It is a stretched string that extends from the bottom of the ravine (in Ukrainian - Yar) to the resonator, which is suspended at the level of the upper edge of the ravine. The resonator catches the energy vibrations of the ravine and transforms them into sound.
The formation of ravines occurs due to the destruction of layers of loose sedimentary rocks by water flows (for example, heavy rains or melting glaciers). Numerous ravines (including those on the territory of Ukraine) were formed during the last ice age, which makes them one of the oldest in the world.
If the ground that we observe under our feet every day is a layering of the history of the Earth's thousand-year existence, then ravines are literally its “holes”. According to the artist, being in a ravine, “a person has an opportunity to feel the energy of centuries, its bottomlessness, and information that cannot be comprehended by the mind, but can be transformed into sound – at a subconscious level, a language which everyone can understand.”
