Інсталяція «Гербарій» створена авторкою під час роботи з колекцією харківського Ботанічного саду. Це альтернатива гербарію, що збирається науковцями задля вивчення рослин. Робота «Гербарій» - це інший спосіб дослідження рослинного світу - через форму та тактильність; вона має декілька ярусів, на кожному з яких у тій чи іншій формі чи матеріалі закарбовані певні рослинні образи.
«У межах ботанічного саду – закладу, що переважно існує в урбаністичному просторі, часто можна відчути несправедливість, ніби рослини (живі за своєю природою) не живуть життя, а лише штучно існують» (Анна Тарадіна).
Така думка неминуче наштовхує споглядача на сторічну проблему протиставлення природи та культури, підкорення природи людською цивілізацію та наслідки цього процесу (у т.ч. екологічні проблеми).
The installation “Herbarium” was created by the artist while working with the collection of the Kharkiv Botanical Garden. This is an alternative to a herbarium, which is collected by scientists for the study of plants. The work “Herbarium” is another way of observing the world of nature – through form and tactility; it has several tiers, each of which is engraved with certain plant image in different forms and material.
“Within a botanical garden – an institution that mainly exists in an urban space, one can often feel injustice, as if plants do not live, but only artificially exist” (Anna Taradina).
Such an opinion inevitably leads the observer to the problem of opposition of nature and culture, the subjugation of nature by human civilization and the consequences of this process (including environmental issues).
