Робота «Метаморфоза» була задумана авторкою як рухома інсталяція, на виконання якої її надихнуло перебування на міжнародному симпозіумі з ленд-арту у селі Могриця, Україна. Виконана з чорнозему, вона декілька разів змінювалася авторкою протягом проведення виставки.
Земля, за своїми фізичними властивостями, не має форми, тому спроба внести у неї геометрію можлива лише у межах музейного простору; у природньому середовищі її форма завжди буде тяжіти до природніх ліній. тому ленд-арт художник завжди усвідомлює моментальність життя свого твору, оскільки з моменту створення робота більше не належить митцю, та є частиною дикої природи.
Таким чином, інсталяція слугує метафорою того, що будь-що задумане людиною не є постійною константою, але завжди є «процесом, у інший (більш глобальний) процес».
The work “Metamorphosis” was conceived by the artist as a moving installation, which was inspired by her stay at the international land art symposium in the village of Mogrytsia, Ukraine. Made of soil, the artwork was changed several times during the exhibition.
Soil, according to its physical properties, has no shape, therefore, an attempt to introduce geometry into it is possible only within the museum space; in the natural environment, its form will always gravitate towards its natural lines. Therefore, a land-art artists are always aware of the impermanence of their works, since from the moment of creation, the work no longer belongs to the world of art or humans civilization, but becomes a part of wild nature.
Thus, the installation serves as a metaphor for the fact that anything conceived by a human being is not a permanent constant, but always “a process, into another process”.
